The Klorman Tank Disinfectant protects water storage tanks against common unwanted water-borne organisms by maintaining a residual chlorine concentration within the tank. Active ingredient: Calcium hypochlorite
- The dissolution rate may vary according to temperature/season, raw water quality and water flow/consumption. For tanks up to 5000L use one dispenser. For larger tanks use two or more as required or; use an in-line chlorine dispensing device.
- Remove dispenser from plastic pouch and unwind the anchor cord.To activate the chlorine release, turn the dispenser upside down and remove the numbered tear off labels to expose the desired number of apertures. If you are uncertain as to the number of apertures required, start with one aperture open and then open additional apertures if more chlorine is required.
- The dispenser does not float. Tie off the anchor cord to a secure place on the tank, ideally somewhere below the the tank inlet to ensure mixing with incoming water. Ensure that the cord is long enough that the dispenser ramains submerged even when the tank water level is low.
- Test the water 48-72 hours after installing the dispenser using the "No Pink, No Drink" indicator. to test, run the tap for 30-60 seconds then fill both chambers of the test tube. Add a chlorine indicator (DPD) tablet to one chamber, then place a finger of both chambers to seal and shake untill the tablet is fully dissolved. Wait 1 minute then compare teh color tint of the two chambers. Even a slight pink indicates a chlorine residual and safe drinking water.
- It is useful to install a sample point at the tank outlet for testing. When testing iopen this valve for a few seconds before taking your sample for testing.
- Disposal: Ensure contents are spent and rinse before disposal. The plastic holder is recyclable plastic.
- Warning: Handle with care. Keep out of reach of children. Do not mix with other chemicals Avoid contact with eyes or moist skin. calcium hypochlorite is an oxidant and powerful bleach. May cause fire - avoid contact with heat, acids, moisture, combustible or other organic materials. Contamination result is hazardous gas formation or fire.
