Also known as Concentrated Soda Crystals, Washing Soda or Sugar Soap, Soda Ash is a powerful and versatile natural mineral, very efficient to clean greasy surfaces, burnt pots and pans, ovens, glasses, dishes, silver, toilets, wax residues, and laundry. Also used to clean sinks, drains and residues in washing machines and on fabrics. Also used as a fixer in fabric dyeing.

Sodium Carbonate is a cost effective option for increasing the pH and alkalinity of water to make it less corrosive as well as to aid the removal of iron, manganese and particulates during flocculation. It is most commonly added by hand to a tank or swimming pool as required but can also be dissolved into a solution and dosed by means of a dosing pump.

Sourced from mines in Botswana, this Soda Ash is far less detrimental to the environment than imported manufactured soda ash.

Soda Ash is an aggressive alkali and appropriate care should be taken when working with the product. Store in an air-tight container.

Preparation
For general cleaning of home surfaces, make a regular Soda Ash solution using 1 heaped tablespoon (1 big Tbsp = 15g) per litre of warm water (30-35°C).
For greasy burnt pans or stains, make a paste by adding a bit of water to Soda Ash
powder, and apply before washing.
