RAINMASTER ECO
RAINMASTER-ECO is known as the most economical rainwater control module in the world.
Most pumps used for rainwater are high pressure, which means high power consumption, which is often overkill for rainwater/grey water applications.
Designed specifically for single level dwellings and low-pressure applications, such as filling toilet cisterns and washing machine/laundry use, the RM-ECO features a computer controlled, low pressure diaphragm pump capable of pumping 10 litres per minute (lpm) at up to 3 bar pressure. The pump is rated at 90W power input – compared to a typical average of1kW for centrifugal pumps. It features a 24 volt power supply and in-built inverter, which can be easily run from a PV source.
Low pressure model RM-ECO specs:
RM-ECO = 90W, 10l/minute at 3.0 bar pressure
RM-ECO features a built-in DVGW certified mains water back-up as standard – meaning that the mains water line is connected to the unit and automatically switches to mains water as soon as your rainwater (grey water) runs dry. It switches back automatically as soon as there is water to pump.
RM-ECO key features
- saves the average suburban home up to 50% of their current municipal water consumption
- DVGW certified, integrated mains water back-up as standard
- 90W power input – very low power consumption
- 24V system with built-in inverter – easily run from a PV source
- pumps 10 liters/minute @ 3 bar pressure
- perfect for low pressure tasks like filling toilets and washing machines
- runs at a quiet 47dB (compared with 65dB for most centrifugal pumps)
- long service life, minimal maintenance
RAINMASTER FAVORIT – standard version
RM-Favorit models are multi-stage, high pressure centrifugal pumps featuring INTEGRATED mains water back-up & computer control operation.
Used in high pressure pumping applications, RM-Favorit standard version comes in 2 models:
RMF-20 – 0.8kW, 80l/minute at 4.8 bar pressure version.
RMF-40 – 1.25kW, 110l/minute at 7.2 bar pressure version.
Ideally suited for residential homes where high pressure water is needed for bath/shower/toilet and irrigation systems – or in light commercial pumping applications, where direct flush toilets and urinals (using e.g. flushmaster valves) require high, reliable pressure – these units provide the advantages of German reliability, low maintenance and years of pumping excellence.
RM-Favorit units feature built-in mains water back-up as standard – meaning the mains water line is connected to the unit and automatically switches to mains water sourcing as soon as your rainwater tank runs dry. It switches back automatically as soon as it rains again.
RM-FAVORIT key features
- can save the average suburban home up to 100% of their municipal water use
- DVGW certified, integrated mains water back-up as standard
- built-in pump controller as standard
- 2 models for 80 or 110 litres/minute @ 4.8 or 7.2 bar pressure respectively
- perfect for all high pressure pumping situations
- indoor wall mounted
- German design & manufacture
- long service life, high efficiency, minimal maintenance
RAINMASTER FAVORIT SC – variable speed version
RM-Favorit SC models are multi-stage, variable speed pump & control units and offer lowest running costs and maintenance intervals.
Used in high pressure pumping applications RM-Favorit SC comes in 2 models:
RMF-20SC – .8kW 0-80l/minute at 4.8 bar pressure version; or
RMF-40SC – 1.25kW 0-110l/minute at 7.2 bar pressure version.
RAINMASTER Favorit SC models are equipped with a variable speed controller. It regulates the speed of the pump to adjust the pressure to the required flow rate. This has great advantages for the user. This pumping system is especially durable, quiet and economical in its consumption of power.
RMF-SC units are modular and up to three units can be connected together, where each individual RMF-SC unit works together with the other pumps to maintain the required pressure. Conventional multiple pump systems have only one control and mains water supply. Should this unit fail, the entire building does not receive any water. By contrast, each RAINMASTER Favorit SC has a separate controller and a separate mains water back-up supply. Should one unit fail, then this is communicated to the other units via Bluetooth, and the other units continue to work independently taking up the slack so that the building never runs dry.
An all round superior pumping system with guaranteed pumping reliability.
RM-FAVORIT SC key features
- German design and manufacture
- can save businesses up to 100% of their municipal water bill
- 40% less power usage than other centrifugal pumps
- 70% less noise emission than other centrifugal pumps
- 40% longer service life than other centrifugal pumps
- DVGW certified integrated mains water back-up as standard
- 2 models pumping from 80 to 300 litres/minute @ 4.8 or 7.2 bar pressure
- up to 3 x units can be connected in parallel (100l/min or 200l/min or 300l/min)
- units sync and communicate together via Bluetooth
- in-built redundancy – complete water pumping security at all times
- if one unit malfunctions then the others take up the load
- perfect for commercial applications where pumping security or a redundant back-up system is mandatory
RAINMASTER technology
So what makes RAINMASTER pump & control systems different from other types of pumps used in water transfer?
RAINMASTER units are more than just pumps; they incorporate the pump, with controller, INTEGRATED mains water supply, electronic ball valve all controlled via automatic operation and monitoring software.
Units are designed using the German standard of high efficiency, low maintenance & long service life. They are also supplied standard with float switches, flexible pressure couplings and stop valves. So when comparing price, one must compare the cost of all of these elements (usually supplied separately in other systems) with the RAINMASTER fully integrated pump & control unit concept.
INTEWA have been producing RAINMASTER units now for 20 years, with tens of thousands operating throughout Europe and abroad, and their robust unit design has led to an excellent in-field service record over this time.
RAINMASTER units are wall mounted, taking up little space and because they are quiet they are often mounted in the garage, plant or pump room, or cellar/basement for residential installations. . RAINMASTER pump technology can be used for supplying a number of water consumers, either within or outside the building, such as for baths and showers, flushing toilets, laundries, pop-up irrigation and cleaning systems, cooling systems and for other water pumping requirements. Recognising that there are many uses for rainwater and treated waste water, in both residential and commercial applications, INTEWA offers both low pressure and high pressure pumping options to cover all requirements.
Should the rainwater tank run dry at any time then the RAINMASTER unit automatically switches over to mains water to continue supplying water. As soon as it rains again the unit automatically switches back to the tank water source.

Rainmaster FAVORIT SC 20 / 40 models – duplex & triplex systems

To design a world class rainwater filter one needs to understand exactly how rain falls from the sky!
Purain Filter – learning from nature
INTEWA studied world rainfall data and discovered the following facts:
- +/- 97% of world rainfall can be termed “light events” – measured as less than 0.6mm in 5 minutes.
- +/- 3% of world rainfall can be termed “heavy events” – measured as more than 0.6mm in 5 minutes.
By using this little known knowledge, INTEWA has been able to design the world’s first “hydraulic jump” self-cleaning rainwater filter, offering the highest water collection efficiency of any filter tested. Rain filtering is all about quality AND quantity!
The Hydraulic Jump
Water enters the filter and drops onto the 0.8mm stainless steel strainer, filtering small particles carried from the roof, before entering the tank via a 110mm inlet pipe and calmer.
When a heavy rain event occurs the velocity of the water entering the filter increases and is directed onto the opposite angular wall of the filter creating a hydraulic-jump. This jump causes the water to form an eddy within the filter chamber. This turbulent eddy removes dirt and particles from the screen and filter chamber where it is removed from the overflow.
This is the hydraulic-jump principal patented by INTEWA, which enables all PURAIN filters to self-clean. The self-cleaning process uses only 2-3% of total collectible water with the main benefits to this being; less clogging, more water saved, dramatically reduced filter maintenance and better water quality.
Light Rainfalls
Low rainfall events account for over 97 % of total annual rainfall. Therefore, it is particularly important that the filter be designed to collect these many light events.
By contrast, most filters are not designed to collect light rainfall events, either:
a) due to poor design (they clog easily and end up wasting much of the capture) or,
b) they are designed to flush away the first few hundred liters (first flush diverters) of each rainfall event in order to “clean the roof” (a concept we regard as unnecessary and wasteful unless you are locates in an industrial area where there are potentially toxic deposits on the roof).
By losing or discarding this light rainfall rainwater, a filter is typically on 50 or 60% efficient. This means that if 1000 liters falls on your roof these filters would collect only 500 or 600 liters in the tank.
By comparison, the rainwater collection efficiency of the PURAIN self cleaning filter is independently rated at 98%.
Heavy Rainfalls
High rainfall events contribute only about 3% to total water yield. In the PURAIN filters these high rainfalls lead to an increased water flow entering the filter chamber which creates a hydraulic jump. This eddy or vortex spins with such great force that even sand and stones, that may have accumulated in the filter chamber, are flushed away through the filter overflow.
So these heavy rainfalls are importantly used by the PURAIN Rainwater filter for self-cleaning.
This enables PURAIN filters to offer 98% collection efficiency AND be self-cleaning – something that virtually all other rainwater filters are unable to offer.
