NSF Certified to treat grey water for household re-use
The AQUALOOP grey water treatment system is a modular system whereby each AQUALOOP membrane station can be fitted with 1-6 membrane cartridges providing a treated water output of 300-1800 litres per day. Additional membrane stations and cartridges can be additional for additional capacity up to 100kLPD. For each incremental increase in capacity the bioreactor and treated water tank sizes increase as well as the aeration requirement The table below is a summary of the tank sizes and equipment for each treatment capacity.

The membrane station is vertically positioned in the contaminated water tank (bioreactor) and is attached to the permeate hose. The bioreactor is intermittently aerated to maintain a healthy population of bacteria which remove nutrients from the grey water. The suction pump draws the water through the membrane via the permeate hose to the clean water tank, leaving the bacteria in the bioreactor to continue their work. The sludge pump periodically removes some of the bacterial sludge from the bioreactor.
The membrane is automatically cleaned (from a back-flushing container located above the pump) at regular intervals to guarantee a long, high flow operating life. The membrane is also periodically flushed with air in order to remove any solids deposited on the membrane filament surfaces. For this purpose the membrane station has a hose connection, which a blower is connected.
Note:
- System pricing excludes tanks, installation and accessories such as piping, tubing and cabling.
- We recommend that each system be quoted full package including all recommend accessories and installation and commissioning. A site visit is required to determine specific requirements.
- A 6 month service visit is recommended to optimize system performance and longevity.
