Activated coconut carbon is thigh heghest quality form of carbon that absorbs organic materials and chlorine from the water it comes into contact with. The Activated Carbon Block is enclosed in a 5-micron filter to catch tiny carbon dust particles that may break off during the filtration.
The carbon block has a 5micron aperture and serves to remove chlorine and its byproducts from water as well as any organic tastes and odours. Note that Hydrogen Suphide with a rotten egg smell often associated with ground water is not removed by a carbon block.

Recommendations:
- Use successively finer aperture sediment filters upstream of a carbon filter to prolong its service life
- Replace the sediment filter when it is visually dirty or water flow or pressure is reduced

- Consider using a back-washable media filter as a more sustainable alternative to single-use plastic cartridges
