A2V in partnership with Flowline were awarded the tender for this 1kLPH plant to treat brackish borehole water for the small settlement of Merrimen in the Northern Cape. Prior to the implementation of this project the municipality had been trucking water into the village on a weekely basis.
The process comprised iron and managnese removal by Katalox followed by softening prior to remove the scale forming compounds prior to RO. The treated water is then stabilised by through Soda Ash addition and Sodium hypochlorite before being pumped to an elevated storage reservoir from where its feeds the village.
