In response to the recent water crisis in Cape Town, A2V were requested to assist in identifying a solution to ensure Indigo’s water supply in the event of disruption to supply. in addition, the City’s pressure management programme has also reduce supply pressure to the point where parts of Indigo’s facility were no longer receiving water.
The study included test well points, sampling and evaluation of ground water quality through to treatment and recycling of effluent. The solution implemented included a 600kL reservoir fed by municipal water and booster pumps to feed it into the factory and offices. The intention being that in future the municipal supply can be supplemented with treated rainwater, groundwater or effluent. A2V for responsible for the implementation and project management as well.
